//-->COLLECTED POEMSEDWARDDORNwas born in Eastern Illinois in 1929 and grew up in ruralpoverty during the Great Depression. After two years at the University ofIllinois, ‘a set of circumstances and warps of destiny’ took him to BlackMountain College, where he studied with Charles Olson. For several yearshe travelled through the far West of America, following the winds ofwriting and employment. In 1961 he became a teacher at the University ofIdaho and saw the publication of his first book of poetry. Invited byDonald Davie in 1965 to join the faculty at the new University of Essex,he spent most of the next five years in England, where he wrote the firstbook of his epicGunslinger.In the 1970s he taught at universities fromChicago to California, and again at Essex, before accepting a professorshipin 1978 at the University of Colorado, Boulder, where he directed thecreative writing program, and continued teaching until his death inDecember 1999. He is the author of over forty books of poetry, fiction,non-fiction and translation.JENNIFERDUNBARDORNwas born in Moscow and grew up in London.Married to Edward Dorn for thirty years, her collaborations with himinclude a book of poems,Manchester Square(1975) and the magazineRolling Stock(1980s). She edited Dorn’s posthumous collections of poetryChemo Sábe(2001) and (with Michael Rothenberg)Way More West: Newand Selected Poems(2007). She taught at the University of Colorado andlives in Denver. A chapbook of her poetry,Galactic Runaway,waspublished in 2007 by Limberlost Press.JUSTINKATKOis from Kentucky and is working on a PhD at the Universityof Cambridge. He is a poet and runs the press Critical Documents.REITHAPATTISONis from London and wrote her doctoral thesis on EdwardDorn at the University of Cambridge.
